Abstract
  • The Chinese tourism industry has expanded rapidly since 1978. However, increased tourism and expanded tourist facilities bring new problems: how to make China more attractive to foreign visitors while still preserving its special identity: how to promote Chinese tours more effectively in the U.K. tourist market, etc. This thesis attempts to provide some framework for the future development of China’s tourism industry and to suggest ways to improve the operation and promotion of Chinese tours in the U.K. tourist market.
